What about Viagra and IVF?

WHY DOES THE CHURCH APPROVE OF SPOUSES USING SOMETHING LIKE VIAGRA THAT HELPS A MAN WHO IS IMPOTENT, AND YET IT CONDEMNS IVF WHICH IS EQUALLY AS ARTIFICIAL?

It's not necessarily the artificial aspect of a medical procedure or drug that makes it wrong. The Church approves of many artificial means that promote health. But, whatever artificial means we use, for whatever reason, they must be used in accord with God's law. In the case of IVF, humans have taken control of a power that belongs to God; no human has the right to choose which embryo created from IVF is to live and which (of the, on average, 8 - 12 brothers or sisters) is to die. In the case of Viagra, if a married man has trouble completing the marital act with his wife, there is nothing wrong with his doctor prescribing him with a medication that allows him to do so provided the spouses are using Viagra for morally upright intentions.
